Rachel + David's Wedding Day
This was such a fun and laid-back day! I met up with Rachel at the Concourse Hotel in downtown Madison, where her wedding party was getting ready. I started out working on her details while she got hair + make up done. Next, I headed over to David for him to get dressed. By the time I got back, it was time for Rachel to get into her gown, and head to the first look.
The videographer took David to the first look spot, Period Garden Park. I arrived with Rachel and we let the moment unfold. After a few portraits, we were on our way over to the capitol building for wedding party formals. Then we all headed to Aldo Leopold Center for the ceremony to begin.
It was so lovely watching these two share their personalized vows, and many tears were shed! They exchanged rings and made it all official. I captured the family photos, and then we got a few friend groups together afterwards. In lieu of a cocktail hour and formal dinner, Chef Dave's team served up food via rotating food stations and drinks. It was such a casual and unique take on dinner, and I absolutely loved it! Part way into this, we snuck away for some golden hour photos.
Once it was dark, we all headed inside to grab a seat. The wedding party shared their toasts, and then we started out the dancing portion of the evening with a joint parent dance. Next, the couple took the floor and started out with a slow version of a song. Partway through, it changed to the dance/up-beat version, and the couple called everyone to join in. It was incredible!
This day was perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing! I had so much fun, and I am so honored to have been a part of it.
