A colorful & playful celebration.

Eric + Marie's day was such a beautiful celebration. They chose Ellsworth Block as their venue, and I had been dying to take photos there. It's a cute little historic spot above The Old Fashioned on the square. I had so much fun playing around with all of their bright, colorful details on a misty day in early November. While Marie got her make up done, Eric wrote down his vows for the ceremony. After Marie got dressed, she had time to work on her crochet project, which was so cute. After formal portraits, we quick popped outside for a few photos with the Capitol, but the rain chased us back inside.

The ceremony itself was so sweet, and of course a bit playful. Two lucky random guests had pens under their chairs, and those two were chosen as witnesses. Cocktail hour took place upstairs on the top floor. The couple hired a live band for that portion of the evening, which was so fun! Live bands are always a blast. Guests were encouraged to take photos with a variety of cameras provided by the couple, which I loved!!

Dinner (which was delicious, as always when it's Blue Plate) was accompanied by a few lovely speeches. Then we moved to the dance floor for the couple's first dance, followed by a father daughter and mother son dance. Then it was partyyyyy time! But first, Marie switched into such a fun feathery gown.

This day was such a fun one to look back on. I am so glad they chose me (and shout out to Jessica, my second photographer for the day) to capture it!
