A quintessential fall wedding.

What to even say about this day! I had been waiting SO LONG for Cara + Beau to get married! From the moment they reached out to me, I was so excited. Cara often shoots weddings with me, so when it came to her wedding day, I knew it was going to be absolutely perfect. Being in the industry, vendors have a different perspective on wedding days, and I think it really showed on Cara + Beau's day. Photographers talk a lot about light, of course, but we also talk about "guest experience" a lot. Photographers are at weddings all day long and we really see it all. We also hear a lot about what makes guests happy. So when it came to planning her own wedding, Cara put light and guest experience first! From the big things, like the structure of the day, to the small things like plenty of snacks and candy throughout the day, it all really adds up.

But also, let's talk about the light! When I walked into the getting ready space, I was so excited. I had so much to work with, from the gorgeous staircase to all of the window light. The huge windows made it so easy for me to light the details and capture amazing getting ready shots. After hair and make up was mostly done, I bopped over to where Beau was to meet the second photographer, Lydia. She stuck with them and captured Beau and his guys hanging out in the shop, getting dressed, and a few moments with mom and grandma.

Next we met up for the first look and private vows. It was such a sweet moment for the couple. I think we all cried!! Then we did some couple portraits and walked around the golf course a bit. Next we gathered the wedding party and family members in a shady spot near the ceremony. Shortly after all the formal portraits, it was time for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony was beautiful - we had such a nice day as well! When Cara + Beau shared their kiss, a flock of birds flew up behind them. It was magical!

Next it was cocktail hour. Since that lined up with golden hour, Cara, Beau, and I snuck out for a few more portraits. We also stopped by the doggy hotel so they could get a few pics with their pups. Then we headed back to enjoy the rest of cocktail hour. After dinner, a few lovely speeches, and the special dances, it was time to open up that dancefloor. Cara and Beau had a basket of goodies to share with guests to light up the dancefloor. Cara passed out light up foam sticks and sun glasses, which made for a lot of fun photos!

Cara + Beau had such a special wedding day. It was fun and beautiful and perfect and magical. I am SO grateful Cara and Beau chose me to capture it.
