Hey there, I’m Sara! I’m a wedding & portrait photographer based out of Madison, Wisconsin.
I love photographing people, and I am always so honored to be a part of so many precious moments from weddings to family milestones to senior portraits. I love every moment of my job, creating something special that you and your family can cherish forever.
Since childhood I have been an art creator and a photo taker. I used to fill up my dresser drawers with drawings and computer hard-drives with photos of flowers and frogs. By the time I was in high school, I got my hands on a fancy camera and was always convincing my sister and friends to model. I spent time in college as a school picture day photographer and doing various freelance photography jobs. I studied at University of Wisconsin – Madison where I studied what I described as the most perfect major, Communication Arts. I learned the art of telling stories - so naturally I found my niche as an artist telling love stories. I still live in Madison, and I absolutely love this city. I have always been drawn to its people, food, markets, music, and bike paths. But as much as I love Madison, I’m always down to travel and try something new.
Ever since my very first wedding years ago, I haven’t looked back. I absolutely adore everything about weddings and being surrounded by love and happiness. Weddings are such unique, fun, and collaborative events. But what I love the most is that weddings are truly the most special day of your life. You can count on me to be there - start to finish. I understand the importance of documenting your day, and realize all of the hard-work and planning that you’ve put into it. For that, I am always flexible and prepared for whatever happens. I’m ready for it all, so you can relax and enjoy the moments. From those fleeting candid moments to setting up creative, unique shots, I do it all. As a photographer, my job is to not just document your day or moment, but to tell your story. So no matter what your story is - you deserve to have it told!
The truth is, my job takes up a great deal of my personal life, and I’m a hard worker through and through. But when I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, Dakota (pictured below), cooking/making messes in the kitchen, film and television (the Oscars are always marked on my calendar), board games (I’m seriously so competitive!!), and traveling (or watching endless travel vlogs on YouTube). Here are some photos of me, photos I've taken, and places I've been:
